This policy explains what personal data StepSnap handles and why. StepSnap is operated by Sebastian Gutierrez Cruz ("we", "us"), an independent software developer based in Barranquilla, Colombia.
StepSnap captures your clicks as steps with automatic screenshots while you record a guide. Captured steps and screenshots are stored locally, in your browser, and stay on your device. When you publish a share link, a copy of that guide — its step texts and screenshots — is uploaded to our servers for one purpose: to render the page you shared. Guides are private by default; nothing is visible to others unless you publish a share link. You can view, edit or permanently delete a guide and its screenshots at any time; deleting a guide also removes its published copy.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We process your account email and guide content to perform the subscription or free service contract with you, and support correspondence on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating the service. We retain account data while your subscription is active and for as long as required by applicable tax and accounting rules, after which it is deleted. Guides and screenshots are retained while you keep them and deleted when you delete them. Usage events are retained for 90 days, and platform backups cover at most 7 days. Deletion is permanent — we keep no trash copy.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by writing to us from your account email. If you are in the European Economic Area, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If we change this policy materially, we will announce it on the site and, for subscribers, by email.
